Design Process

Every project is different, and this process is a flexible one. That said, we’ve posted it as a rough outline of what to expect when you work with us.

1. Discovery

To build you the best site possible, we’ll want to learn what your needs and wants are. We’ll discuss aesthetics and features, and, if you already have a website, we’ll learn which parts of it work and which parts are holding you back.

We’ll create a Website Proposal for you which includes:

  • Illustrations of design options
  • A proposed feature list
  • Costs and benefits explanation
  • An estimated completion timeline
  • A price quote.

2. Design

With your approval of the proposal and a 25% deposit, design work on your website begins in earnest. During this stage we’ll work with you to refine one of the design options included in the Proposal. We’ll tweak colors, type, layout, and images until the design and usability of our site are fully polished.

This phase ends with the creation of Design Proofs, which are are exact representations of what your finished site will look like.

3. Development

This phase begins with your approval of the Design Proofs and a second payment of 25%. At this point we’ll also want all the content we need to launch the site (photos of your work, copy, testimonials from you customers, etc.). Development includes all website coding, final creation of graphics, and functionality testing. We’ll deploy of the site to our private server for cross-browser compatibility testing. You’ll be able to log on to our server to access this live preview of your site as well as give us your feedback on our progress.

4. Delivery

After you approve the site and settle the balance on your account, we’ll install and configure your site, begin SEO campaigns and, if you’ve chosen to do so, advertising. Your website will be live and accessible to the public and your clients.

We’ll create a Website Wrap-Up Packet for you that includes:

  • All website source code
  • Original Photoshop / Illustrator documents
  • Screenshots showing cross-browser compatibility-
  • IP licenses as necessary.
