Use the golden ratio to create beautiful, balanced designs
phixel is a dedicated calculator for web designers
Enter a width and immediately see three other widths that correspond according to phi. The two on the left are fractions of the width you entered. These might represent, say, the widths of a content column and that of a sidebar. The number to the right is also determined by the golden ratio, and might represent, say, overall page width.
Touch any of the results in the blue bars and phixel will perform a new calculation based on that width.
Convert pixel-based layouts to flexible, typographic Ems
In Conversion (Portrait) Mode, set the base font size in pixels for your document, then enter the pixel dimension of any element to see that element’s size in scalable Ems. Input new element sizes manually or use the scrubber to change them. Scrub with one finger to change the value slowly and two fingers to change in more rapidly.
